The November 2020 Search Magic release contains a feature update that many store owners may find beneficial, especially now that the busiest shopping season of the year is upon us.
We realized that some stores sell items that have additional identifiers, information, or properties that are not able to be included in the boilerplate item setup page, but are important enough that they need to be searchable.
As we get ready for what is to be a record setting holiday shopping season for online merchants, store owners should be looking to take advantage of every sales channel to capture sales.
For BigCommerce store owners, an update was just pushed out that allows you to expand your product reach. When you log into your store’s control panel and click on Channel Manager, you may notice things look a little different.
See if this scenario is familiar to you. You just spent some time working on your eCommerce store, everything looks great, seems to be working, and you’re ready to move on to something else. An hour later, the phone starts ringing, emails start coming in… customer’s can’t place an order.
You don’t know what you did, but you ended up breaking something.
For many, there’s only one or two options. Retrace your steps and try to find what you did and fix it, or jump on the phone with your developer and pay them to troubleshoot.
Once you’re ready to launch your BigCommerce store, there are a few things you need to do to let the search engines know you’re open for business. These checklist items only take a few minutes to set up in your store’s control panel.
The first is to verify ownership of your new website with Google, which is important if you plan on submitting products to Google Shopping. This verification process is crucial for things like Google Merchant Center, Google Analytics, or similar services from other search engines.
The second step is to link your Google Analytics account to your new BigCommerce store. This allows you to collect valuable data on your shopper’s behavior, how your marketing dollars are working for you, and more information that you can use to improve the performance of your advertising and your store.
2020 has thrown many challenges at us, there’s no doubt about it! The eCommerce world has seen growth it’s never seen before due to COVID-19 and the upcoming holiday season is expected to be the biggest yet for online sales.
The National Retail Federation (NRF) reports a 21.2% increase in online and other non-store sales from April 2019 to April 2020. Fueled by stay-at-home orders and a surge of consumers buying online for the first time, this increase was a life saver for many store owners who were concerned about how the pandemic would impact their business.
We may have just turned the page on the calendar to August, but it’s time to begin mapping out a plan for the 4th quarter. After all, you want 2020 to be remembered as the year that broke records for your company!
Every time I’m asked that question, I laugh. Is there really such a thing as a “vacation” for small business owners?
Sure, you may escape to the beach for the weekend, or pack up the family for a few days of rest and relaxation at a resort, but you’re never too far from your business. Laptops, tablets, and phones have made it all too easy for us to check on how many orders came in, whether emails are getting answered in time, and did so-and-so follow up on that customer’s missing order from wherever we are in the world.
Our development calendar for 2019 is pretty full and while we released several new products and updated existing ones, we’re not done yet. In fact, the team is heads-down, knee-deep in projects that I haven’t spoken about, but are going to be exciting additions for Yahoo!, Big Commerce, and Shopify store owners.
In case you missed what came out so far this year, here’s a quick recap:
Ask anyone on the team, “how are things going?” and the answer is sure to be “busy!” April came and went quicker than a basket full of chocolate on Easter morning and besides being a busy month, it was an exciting one.
Just a few weeks ago I introduced you to the latest product to come out of our development lab, AMP Wizard. In development for nearly a year, the latest addition to our suite of SaaS products has quickly become a must-have for Yahoo! Store owners.
AMP Wizard from Your Store Wizards is now available and we understand you may have questions about AMP and why it’s recommended for all websites.
We encourage you to read through our FAQs below to see if your question has been answered. If you need more information about AMP Wizard, please contact us, or to learn more about the product, click here.
I’d like to take this opportunity to update you on some of the exciting things happening here at Your Store Wizards.
First off, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Scott Sanfilippo, the GM here in the world where our wizards work their magic to help your store generate more sales. I joined the team in October 2018 following a 25-year career as both an eCommerce store and a website development/Internet marketing company owner.
