Today I have some very exciting news to share with you about a project we’ve been working on for some time.
When we first began offering platform migration services to BigCommerce several years ago, many of our clients asked us for tools that could reduce the amount of time it takes to do regular tasks, or, mimic features that existed on their old platform.
Well, we kept notes and passed on your suggestions to our team of developers along with a challenge. We asked them to take all these requests and build a virtual “toolbox” that store owners can access and choose various “tools” to use with their store.
In just a few weeks, we will be unveiling the results of the project with a service called Your Store Tools! This suite of tools will feature both free and premium tools which will allow you to:
- Export Categories
- Import Categories
- Export Products
- Import Products
- Download Product Images
- Bulk Upload URL Redirects
These are accessed through a central dashboard, independent of your store, and new tools that we add will automatically appear as well as future beta opportunities.
Now here’s the exciting part! As a store owner who migrated from Turbify, formerly Yahoo! Store, you may have asked us how to copy and paste a category in BigCommerce like you were able to do in your old store.
Disappointment may have set in once you learned that it wasn’t possible. In fact, so many of our clients who moved from Turbify have asked us to create something so categories could be copied and placed anywhere in the store.
Well, we did!
CopyCat Category Duplicator allows you to take any category in your store and copy it so it can reside in multiple locations. The easy-to-use interface allows you to create CopyCat categories in under a minute.
When setting up a new CopyCat category you can choose to simply copy it, or copy it and have it continually sync with the original so that every time you make a change to the original, such as adding new products, the CopyCat version will automatically update once a day.
While Your Store Tools will be available to all store owners later this year, we are currently looking for BigCommerce store owners willing to be part of our beta program. The primary focus of the beta program is to test and provide feedback on CopyCat Category Duplicator, but we are also looking for feedback and testing of the other free tools.
If you would like to be considered to be part of this beta program, please click here to read the program terms and complete the signup form.
For those who prefer to wait, stay tuned as we will have more information about the public release of Your Store Tools in the coming weeks.
