Your Store Wizards, or another BigCommerce developer, may ask you to create a V2/V3 API Token for them in order to do development work on your store.
This is a very straightforward and simple process that only takes a minute to complete. To assist you, we’ve outlined the steps below and included a video walk-thru of the process.
Step 1: Log into your BigCommerce Control Panel
Step 2: Click on “Settings”
Step 3: Scroll to”API” and click on “API Accounts”
Step 4: Click “Create API Account”
Step 5: Select “Create V2/V3 API Token”
Step 6: Type in a name for the token
Step 7: Under OAuth Scopes change the following options to “modify”
- Content
- Customers
- Orders
- Themes
- Products
Step 8: Click Save
Details of the token will appear on the screen and a file will automatically download which contains the token details that you can provide to your developer.
